Both Culpeper and Eastern View’s seasons came to an end last weekend. The Blue Devils fell to the Phoebus Phantoms in the Class 3 state semifinals while the Cyclones fell to the Lake Taylor Titans in the Class 4 state semifinals.

While both teams had successful seasons, those seasons became even more successful thanks to All-Region selections for the 3B, Culpeper’s region, and 4B, Eastern View’s region, regions.

Culpeper had a complete sweep of the “Of the Year” honors. Head coach Ken Wakefield was named Coach of the Year, while wide receiver D’Aron Colbert was named Offensive Player of the Year. Defensive end George Moseley was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Colbert, running back Javae Colcough and offensive linemen Grant Hibbert and Brandon Miller were named First Team All-Region offensive selections. Moseley, defensive tackle Adam Mifsud, linebacker Blake Polleri and defensive backs Capone Hoffman and Colbert were named First Team All-Region defensive selections.

Running back Jalen Veeney, wide receiver Capone Hoffman, tight end Armani Hoffman, and offensive lineman Taha Ali were named Second Team All-Region offensive selections. Defensive back Armani Hoffman was Culpeper’s lone Second Team All-Region defensive selection.

Eastern View’s Greg Hatfield won Coach of the Year for the 4B region.

Offensive lineman Adam Lillard, running back Trey Holmes, wide receiver Blake Leake, kicker Garrett Hutchinson and kick returner Keyshawn Butler were named First Team All-Region offensive selections. Defensive tackle Parris Owen, defensive lineman Avery Sites, linebacker Zach Brown, defensive back Leake, punt returner Butler and all-purpose player Chance Graves were named First Team All-Region defensive selections.

Quarterback Matt Lowry, center Ricky Robinson and offensive lineman Jason Southern were named Second Team All-Region offensive selections. Linebacker Andrew Shurina was Eastern View’s lone Second Team All-Region defensive selection.

Eastern View’s Tyler Settle, Brown and Noah Procter were named honorable mentions for the offensive All-Region team, while the Jordan Dodson, Aaron Henson and Procter were named honorable mentions for the defensive All-Region team.
