The Eastern View golf team finished second in a tri-match with Albemarle and Chancellor at Culpeper Country Club on Tuesday.
The Cyclones (9-4-1) were paced by the play of sophomore Robert Scott, who shot a 39 to finish second individually on the afternoon.
Freshmen Nathan Amos and Peter Scott and junior Kelly Hackley also had strong efforts for Eastern View. Amos turned in a 41 to finish fifth, Hackley notched a 46 to come in ninth, and Scott’s 47 landed him in 10th.
As a team, Eastern View totaled a 173 on the day.
“It was good to get back on our home course and put together a solid round,” Cyclones head coach Patrick Thornhill said. “Our average at home is much better than it is on the road because we know the course better and we feel more comfortable playing it.”
Albemarle, which took the match with a 160 overall, was led by Jack Kelly’s 35, which earned him medalist honors. Teammates Vivian Hui and Robert Brozey tied each other for third place with a 40.
Chancellor, which finished with a 190 on the afternoon, was paced by Kia Crockett’s 41, which tied Amos for fifth.
Eastern View returns to the course at Culpeper Country Club with a match against Battlefield District foe Courtland on Monday.
