The Fauquier football team snapped a 13-game losing streak dating back to 2017 with a 32-0 win over visiting Brentsville on Friday night.
The Falcons (1-1), whose last victory came on Oct. 28, 2017 against James Wood, received valuable contributions on offense from a variety of players.
Running backs Nick Shadyac and Ky’lil Kiawu each ran for 84 yards and a touchdown, and Shadyac also hauled in a 48-yard scoring reception.
Quarterback J.T. Diehl was 8-of-9 passing for 178 yards and a touchdown.
Fauquier is on a bye next week, but returns to action on Sept. 20 with a nondistrict matchup at Heritage (Leesburg).
Dylan Bailey’s 22-yard touchdown pass to Wyatt Hicks with 57 seconds left in regulation lifted host Liberty to a come-from-behind nondistrict victory over Courtland.
A sack by Fred Harris on a fourth-down play sealed the win for the Eagles (2-0), who travel to King George for another nondistrict tilt next Friday.

Madison County was unable to start off the Jon Rasnick era with a victory, falling to visiting James River.
Khalid West scored the Mountaineers’ lone touchdown in the contest.
