The Culpeper Food Closet is gratefully appreciative of the annual Post Office Food Drive for Culpeper County. This year's efforts resulted in an estimated 5,000 pounds of food items. This is one of the best drives we have had in recent years.

Once again, the Culpeper community proves by actions that we are indeed a unique community!

Not only did your letter carriers deliver mail to us, they gladly picked up bags of food to be distributed to those who need a little extra help. We know this added time to their normal workday.

The Culpeper Food Closet serves approximately 3,500 meals each week—Culpeper Human Services refers 80 to 100 families to the Food Closet. Among this count are 425 children and 123 seniors.

The Post Office Food Drive is very timely as the summer school vacation time is here; that little extra for the children who do not get the benefit of the school lunch program becomes very important to these families.

Thank you again.
