Carolyn Sue Smith, 72, of Culpeper passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her residence. She was born September 17, 1947 in Rockingham County to the late Lloyd and Myrtle Perryman Miller. Mrs. Smith was a member of Stevensburg Baptist Church. She worked at Aileen's for 17 years and later worked at CCA, Conveless in the Plains and retired from Superior Paving in Gainesville. She loved crafts, needlepoint, crocheting and scrapbooking. Above all, she loved her family. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bobby Lee Smith; two children, Anthony Miller (Serena) of Culpeper, and Jeffrey Allen Smith of Culpeper; and five siblings, Ethel "Betty" Turner (Donald), Wayne Miller (Lynn), David Lee Miller (Gail), George "Bill" Miller, and Charles Miller (Elizabeth). Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Ashley Gibson (Matt) of Stanardsville, Kayla Miller of Ruckersville, Colby Stutes of Culpeper, and Taya Smith of WV; and one great grandchild, Madison Elaine Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Jr., Johnny and Danny Miller. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Stevensburg Baptist Church, 19393 York Rd., Stevensburg, VA with Rev. Philip Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be T.W. Miller, Neil Brown, Matthew Gibson, Fred Harvey, Coy Harvey, Kim Delliger. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to New Century Hospice, 941 Glenwood Station Ln., Unit 204, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Special thank you to New Century Hospice for the love and compassion shown to Mrs. Smith.
