Ericka Jewel Estes, 20, of Culpeper, VA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 19, 2019 while dog sitting at a friend's home. She was born on "Ground Hog Day" February 2, 1999 in Prince William Hospital to Paul Wayne and Faith Renee Estes. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Emily Kristen Verardo and brother-in-law Vincent, her brothers, Caleb Evan Estes and Ethan Paul Estes; and her nephews, Felix and Oliver Verardo; several grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ericka graduated from Eastern View High School in 2017 and was attending Germanna Community College. She was within 4 classes of obtaining a Business Associates Degree. She worked part-time at Wells Fargo Bank in Locust Grove, Va. Ericka was an outgoing and vivacious person and always loved people. During her 4-year career at Ole Country Store and 9-month career at Wells Fargo, she focused on customers. Ericka loved to bake and decorate cupcakes and cakes. Ericka played soccer for 13 years, beginning at 5 years old, for the Culpeper House League, Culpeper Comets, and Eastern View High School. She had an aggressive passion for the game in which she ruled the Center Mid-Field. Her family enjoyed watching her play and her dad nick named her "Flyin' Foodie." Ericka adored her Bichon Frise companion named Chloe, who she had since a puppy. Ericka's parents dedicated her to the Lord at a child dedication service on February 4, 2001. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on March 4th 2007 and was baptized by former Pastor Bob Yoder of Dayspring Mennonite Church. When Ericka attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with her parents, she went on a World Changers Missions Trip to West Memphis, Arkansas where she participated in house restoration and ministering to the community. Ericka was planning to participate in another mission's trip to Uganda. Ericka loved and faithfully attended The Journey Church in Remington, VA led by Pastor Kevin Dawson. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, VA. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, May 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Dayspring Mennonite Church, 5522 Catlett Road, Midland, Va. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 12714 Elk Run Road, Midland, VA 22728 with a meal to follow at Mt. Carmel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Uganda Mission.
