Doris Kathleen Dennis, 85, of Castleton, died Sunday, October 13, 2019 at INOVA Fairfax hospital. She was born March 20, 1934 in Edison, NJ to the late Creed M. and Ada Georgia Jameson Dennis. Mrs. Dennis owned and operated Dennis' Store along with her husband "Where People Babble at Scrabble" for 40 years as well as working at CCA for several years. She was a deaconess at Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville, VA. Mrs. Dennis was a former member of Castleton Volunteer Firehall ladies auxiliary and volunteered with the American Cancer Society. She loved to crochet and bake. Everyone loved her lemon meringue pies and her pound cakes. She is survived by her two daughters, Angela Maria Dennis and Melissa Kay Dennis; seven grandchildren, Natasha White (Wendell Yates), Carissa Johnson (Justin), Ronald White, Jr. (Karla), Cory Garnett, Cierra Chambers, Cydney Chambers and Jade Dennis; eight great grandchildren; Tatyana Yates, Jaesean Yates, Natalya White, Gavin Butler, Kylyn Butler, Ronald White, III., Brie White, and Sean White. Additional survivors include a brother, William Dennis (Diane), and a sister, Linda Azadi (Ali); sisters-in-law; Rosalind Dennis and Esther Dennis. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Grayson Dennis, Sr.; her son, Robert Grayson Dennis, Jr.; her grandson, Matthew Kyle Dennis; two great-grandsons, Rayshawn Yates and Jesse O. Yates; two brothers, Creed Dennis and Alfred Dennis; and two sisters, Julia Dennis and Gloria Turner. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 12pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
