Barbara Brown Creel, loving wife, mother, and kind friend to many left her earthly home on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, to be with the saints, the angels and her heavenly Father. Barbara was born in Charlottesville, Va. and was a life-long resident of Orange, Va. She was the daughter of the late Earl H. and Julia D. Brown of Orange, Va. Barbara graduated from Orange Co. High School in 1970. In her senior year of high school she began training as a dental assistant with Dr. W. A. McClellan. She continued to be in dentistry for almost 21 years with Dr. McClellan and later with Dr. Robert Bodendorf. She worked for Ricketts Medisave for 7 years until the its operations moved to Richmond. She eventually retired after working for M.P.S. Returns Center for almost 17 years. She is survived by her husband, Joseph J. Creel of Orange; a son, J. Darrell Creel of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.; a sister, Carolyn B. Peregoy and husband Douglas of Orange; a brother, James H. Brown and wife Karen of Northport, Fl.; and several nieces and nephews in different locations of the country. A memorial funeral service will be held at the Blue Run Baptist Church in Somerset, Va. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. with a private interment at Graham Cemetery in Orange. In lieu of flowers, please give to any of our county's first responders. The family wishes to thank Dr. Leigh Cantrell and staff at U. Va. Cancer Center, The Staff of New Century Hospice, Dr. Ali Mahjoub and staff of Culpeper Medical Center, and friends and church family throughout our community who have been so kind and thoughtful in so many ways.
