A man from Rhoadesville perished in a single-vehicle crash in Orange County Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 9 on State Route 611 (Zoar Road), just east of Skyler Lane, according to a news release from Virginia State Police Spokesman Sgt. Brent Coffey.

A 2002 Ford F-150 was traveling east on Route 611 when the driver lost control, ran off of the roadway on the right and collided with a tree.

The driver of the Ford, Johny W. Wells, 64, of Rhoadesville, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. He was wearing a seat-belt.

State Police Trooper F. Stanley is investigating the crash.
