An Orange County man accused of attempted murder continues to be held in custody pending a preliminary hearing next month.
The Albemarle County Police Department on Feb. 5 arrested Brian O’Neal Clark II, 21, of Somerset on warrants out of Orange County also charging him with breaking and entering with intent to defile.
The charges resulted from an investigation that began August 22, 2019, according to a news release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. It was on that date local authorities received a report from a Somerset citizen that an unknown individual had broken into her house and assaulted her.
A recent report from the Northern Virginia Forensics Lab enabled OCSO investigators to develop the case and place the charges, the release stated.
Clark is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Orange General District Court on March 11 for a preliminary hearing. Defense attorney David Randle is representing him, according to online court case records.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Investigator Abe Lasco with the OCSO at 540/672-1200.
