Culpeper Remebers 9/11

Partnership of Bugles Across America and the Culpeper Minutemen SAR will include salutes and the playing of Taps at 8:46 a.m. in front of the firehouse on West Davis Street, 9:03 a.m. in front of the sheriff’s office on West Davis Street, 9:37 a.m. in the Wine Street Memorial Park and 10:03 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Davis Streets. After a moment of silence, Taps will be sounded for a fifth time. A verse from “America the Beautiful” will be played remembering all the innocent citizens who died on 9/11 followed by “Amazing Grace” in memory Ken and Jennifer Lewis, married flight attendants from Culpeper who died aboard American Flight 77 that struck the Pentagon on 9/11.

National Day of Service and Remembrance

9 to 11 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery in partnership with Carry the Load. Volunteers are asked to come out and help clean the hallowed grounds where the nation’s finest rest. Closed-toe shoes required for this volunteer work day at which work supplies will be provided.

Culpeper County Democratic Committee

9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday at 206 Main Street, Suite 302. The public and members are welcome to stop in for up-to-date information, campaign materials, activities participation, and membership forms. Original artwork by local artists is also for sale.

Silver Citizens Club

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Culpeper County Library. 540/645-7189.

Culpeper Medical Center Farmer’s Market

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays outside the main entrance of the hospital on Sunset Lane featuring produce and goods from local vendors. The market will run every week through October 30.

One Village Prayer & Worship Night

9-11 Remembrance Ceremony

6 p.m. at the Sept. 11 Memorial inside the Sumerduck Ruritan Club. (This is a change in meeting place due to the heat).
