10 a.m. in the gym at Culpeper County High School. All veterans, active-duty military and their families are invited to gather in the library before for a meet and greet, pastries, beverages and corsage pinning.

10 a.m. every Friday at Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive in Culpeper. Virginia 0577 Chapter of Take Off Pounds Sensibly is part of a nonprofit network of weight-loss support groups and wellness education organizations.

Fun Friday Storytime

10:30 a.m. at the Culpeper Library. Fun and engaging program is designed to help children develop early literacy skills for kindergarten preparedness. Stories, songs, puppets, and finger plays. Children attend with a parent or other caregiver. Great for grandparents to attend with the grandkids. No registration required.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Graffiti House, 19484 Brandy Rd. in Brandy Station with lectures at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. with Brandy Station Foundation Research Historian Robert Gilbert presenting on, “Train Highlights in the Civil War,” and Brandy Station Foundation Vice President Paula Johnson presenting on, “The Gray Ghost—Col. John S.Mosby: Raids on and Encounters with Trains.”

Veterans Day Parade

2 p.m. on Main Street in the town of Gordonsville, Orange County, followed by ceremony honoring veterans, parade awards and refreshments in the fire hall on Baker St.

Holiday Craft Fair

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lower level gym and cafeteria at Eastern View High School in Culpeper County. Crafters, vendors, raffles, 50/50 and concessions.

Book Publishing with Rick Pullen

11 a.m. at the Culpeper County Library with the Fredericksburg author of “Naked Ambition” and “Naked Truth.” If you are a serious writer working on a manuscript and don’t know the next step to take, or a novice wondering what it would take to write and published a book, this seminar is for you. Free.
