Job Readiness Workshop

Storytime Registration

10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Culpeper Library for ages 3 to 5. Preschool storytime is held at 10:30 featuring stories, songs, flannel board play, puppets, rhymes and tips for developing pre-literacy skills. Children attend on their own while parents remain in the library. 540/825-8691.

Class on lower back pain

Noon in the conference room at Powell Wellness Center, 1005 Golf Dr. in the town of Culpeper is the latest, free installment of Health Matters. Physical therapist Chris Gettle will speak about treating and preventing lower back pain. Free and open to the public. 540/445-5395.

A Refreshing for the Chronically Ill

Sperryville Pike closure

Starting at 7 p.m. for a pipe replacement project between Route 748 (Bruces Lane) and Route 763 (Saint Jameson Road). Drivers coming from Sperryville will use Route 784 (Western Outer Loop) to Route 729 (Eggbornsville Road) to Route 299 (Rixeyville Road) to Colonel Jameson Boulevard to get around the closure. Drivers coming from Culpeper will reverse the detour. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Route 522 in this area will be reduced to one lane controlled by flagging. Sperryville Pike will reopen to traffic at 7 a.m. Wednesday. Depending on weather and construction progress, the road may be reduced to one lane controlled by flagging during the day. Work will be complete by late afternoon Wednesday.
