Martha Sanford, the Culpeper County Chamber of Commerce’s longtime programming chief, will soon depart to take a post with a new employer.
“With a new year comes new beginnings, and with ours, our Director of Programming, Martha Sanford, has chosen to accept a position with a new employer,” chamber President and CEO Wes Mayles announced in a statement. “We are truly thankful for the 16 years of commitment and dedication Martha has given the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce.
“Martha has been a great asset to our organization and we wish her the very best in her new opportunity,” he added. “We look forward to working with her in her new role.”
Sanford will join the sales and marketing department at The Culpeper.
Sanford said she is “excited for the journey ahead and the challenges this new job offers.”
“My journey with the chamber has been an amazing one, and most of you know it has been a job that I have loved,” she said. “In my 16-plus years here, I’ve had the opportunity to work with countless individuals that have made a positive impact in my business career and my personal life as well. Thank you all!
Sanford said she will remain engaged with and supportive of the chamber and her community.
Her last day of employment at the chamber will be Jan. 18, Mayles said Thursday.
