A look at last week’s highlights from Culpeper Football Association games:
Midget
Trent Wise had a 55-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff in a mostly defensive game lead by Davon Fletcher, Tyler Frazier, and Savyon Johnson in the Terps 6-0 victory over the Tar Heels.
The Yellow Jackets won against the Tigers 32-0. Eli Marks, Austin Bowles, Luther Gibbs and Jordan Goodman all scored touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets. Bernard Wise made two extra point plays. Caleb Weaver was fundamental on the defense with three key tackles to hold the Tigers in a shut out victory. Other scores: Wolpack 2, Blue Devils 0; Cavaliers 7, Hurricanes 13; Deacons 8, Hokies 6.
Mighty Mite
The Cavaliers had another great game Saturday with a 40-12 win over the Deacons. Touchdowns were made by Malcolm Robinson, Trey Holmes, Iquan Johnson with two and Jeremy Yates with a 50-yard interception return and a 60-yard kick off return for touch downs. Extra points off touchdowns were made by Aron Bowles and Wade Colbert ran one in and a pass from Malcolm Robinson for a two-point conversion. The defense had another great performance led by Avery Sites with two fumble recoveries and the entire defense is doing well and has only allowed three touchdowns in three games.
The Wolfpack had an impressive win 31-18 over the Tigers on Saturday. D’Ago Hunter returned two kickoff to set up touchdowns. He was also able to intercept a pass and score another touchdown in the third quarter. Mason Hackley ran for and scored an extra point into the end zone while Greg Orange lead the defense in sacks. DaiJordan Brown and Dontae Helton both were key players in outstanding tackles to the Tigers defense.
