The Culpeper Post 330 baseball team will get another crack at North Rockingham in the opening round of the American Legion’s district tournament.
The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Legion’s field on Rixeyville Road.
Post 330 has beaten North Rockingham two out of three times this year, including a 12-3 rout on Saturday.
“Hopefully, we’ll still have their number,” manager Jeff Crane said.
Both teams finished tied for eighth place, Crane said.
Culpeper earned home-field advantage based on its 2-1 head-to-head record and outscoring North Rockingham over those three games.
Despite Saturday’s blowout, the other games were very close.
“Hopefully, the pitchers will hit their spots,” he said.
Crane gave the pitchers Tuesday off from practice in an effort to keep them fresh for today’s game.
“I told them to ice their arms,” he said.
The opening round of the tournament is single-elimination, Crane said. Double-elimination starts in the next round.
In the event of rain, the game would be played on Thursday.
