The Culpeper Junior team ended its state tournament run Thursday. After winning three games over the course of the last few days, the team stumbled against Warwick.
Culpeper finished fourth in the 15-team field, winning games against Dale City, Churchland and Gainesville. Bristol handed Culpeper its only other loss, 14-4 on Sunday.

Culpeper 1
Lee Rossi took the loss for the Culpeper team. He pitched 2 2-3 innings, striking out one. He limited Warwick to four hits, but walked seven batters.
Geoff Ward, Kevin Cole and Jeremiah Yates all pitched in relief for Culpeper.
Bryan Valdez provided the offense. He hit a solo home run that tied the game at one at the end of the first inning.
Josh Gardiner was 1-for-1 with two walks. Lee Rossi, Matt Nerkowski and Geoff Ward each added a hit.
Mistakes hurt Culpeper. The team committed five errors and issued 12 walks.
