Despite being sore because of a grueling week of practice, the Devilettes shutout Cedar Run District foe Osbourn 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 26-14) Thursday night.
“We were mentally prepared tonight,” CCHS coach Chris White said. “We did a great job passing. We had twice as many opportunities for points that usual.”
Megan Chamberlin led the Devilettes with 10 kills, four aces and a block. Emily Watkevich added nine kills and a block, while Kara Connoly finished with an impressive 29 assists.
“Kara played the game of her life,” White said. “Her sets were crisp, and she was all over the floor.”
Defensively, Kelly Dubell led the way with 39 digs, while senior Dee Cooper was a perfect 16-16 on her serves.
With the win, Culpeper improves to 7-9 overall and 3-7 in the district.
“I’m really excited to see what we can do with this win,” White said.
