CCHS takes second at tourney in Waynesboro

The Culpeper County High School Volleyball team picked up two victories and finished second to Potomac Falls this weekend at the Little Giant Invitational in Waynesboro.

Culpeper beat Waynesboro 2-1 in the opener by scores of 21-25, 25-22 and 25-16. In the second match the Blue Devilettes beat Stafford 25-18, 25-19 and 25-22 to set up a meeting with Potomac Falls in the championship.

Potomac Falls jumped on the Devilettes with a 25-9 victory in the first game, but CCHS battled back with a 25-21 win in the second set before PFHS closed it out with a 25-18win.

Megan Chamberlin was named to the All-Tournament team after recording 27 kills in the event. Emily Watkevich added 17 kills and Kara Connolley recorded 73 assists.
