Now that the high school football season in Culpeper has come to an end, it’s the girls’ turn.
However, due to the weather conditions, the Powder Puff football game originally set for tonight at Eastern View High School will be moved to Monday, Nov. 17. The game will be between friends from Culpeper County High School and Eastern View High School and begin at 6 p.m. in the Cyclone stadium. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
The annual Powder Puff football game has a new twist this year — it’s actually two games. In years past the junior girls from Culpeper County High School took on the seniors in a game of flag football and boys served as cheerleaders.
Groups from both schools began practicing in early November and both schools are determined to secure bragging rights with victories.
Gates open at Cyclone Stadium at 5:30 p.m. and the cost of admission is $3 with a dollar off for anyone donating a canned food item. T-Shirts are available for $10 and all proceeds go towards the American Cancer Society and The Free Health Clinic of Culpeper.
In between games the principals from each school, Jeff Dietz from CCHS and Roger Mello from EVHS, will face off in a wing eating contest sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings.
