Orange hammers Charlottesville

The Orange Hornets used a 35-point second quarter and a strong defensive effort to springboard their way to a 62-6 drubbing of the Charlottesville Black Knights Friday night.

Orange star Quinten Hunter led the way by scoring seven touchdowns. He scored on runs of 18, 22 and six yards and passes of 17, 4, 13, and 41 yards.
Hunter — who will be playing at U.Va. next year — finished the game with 71 yards on the ground and 134 through the air.
The senior quarterback’s favorite target during the blow out was Amir Waller, who finished with 82 yards on four catches, including touchdowns receptions of 17, 13 and 41 yards.

OCHS running back Domonique Walker finished the game with 60 yards and a touchdown on six carries, while Darryus Gilliam added a 33-yard touchdown scamper and a four-yard touchdown reception.

Charlottesville’s lone score of the game came on a 90-yard kickoff return early in the second quarter.

Orange improves to 4-3 with the win, while the Black Knights fall to 1-7.

The Hornets will be in action again on Friday at 7:30 p.m. when they travel to Louisa for a Jefferson District rivalry game.
