Eastern View faced a solid ground game from Clarke County Friday night in Berryville, but the Cyclones held on in the fourth quarter to leave with a 12-7 victory. Eastern View goes to 2-1 this season and Clarke County falls to 2-2.
In Culpeper, Colonial Forge quarterback Blake Froanapfel heated up in a big way in the second quarter Friday at Broman field, leading the Eagles to a 38-0 win over Culpeper. Froanapfel completed passes to eight different receivers in the first half and finished the half with 172 yards passing and two touchdowns.
The Eagles outgained the Blue Devils 322 yards to 18 in the first two quarters.
Froanapfel completed a three-yard touchdown pass to Timothy Scott to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead over Culpeper County High School at the end of the first quarter.
In Spotsylvania, Orange was leading the Knights 35-0 in the second quarter.
