Courtney Owens scored two goals for Eastern View, including one with 30 seconds left in regulation to tie the game, but the Cyclones fell 3-2 in overtime to Courtland in a Battlefield District contest.
Owens gave the Cyclones and early lead with a goal about seven minutes into the contest, but Emma McCullough tied the game a few minutes after that with a goal for the Cougars.
Courtland’s Skylar Medley broke the 1-1 tie in the second hlaf with a goal 10 minutes in, but Owen’s scored in the final minute to force the extra period.
From there the Cougars were able to get another goal when Katheryn Peeple scored the game-winner seven minutes into the over time.
“I thought we had moments where we played well and moments when we didn’t,” EVHS coach Peggy Allen said. “In overtime they just played a better game than we did.”
