Four local teams are a step closer to the Little League World Series.
The Culpeper senior baseball, junior baseball, 11-12 Culpeper National softball and senior softball teams will all participate in the Virginia state tournament after advancing out of District 14.
The Senior baseball team had a direct road to the state tournament. There where no other senior teams in District 14, so the Culpeper group automatically qualified.

The junior team opens play July 17 in Honaker.
The 11-12 Culpeper National softball team defeated the Culpeper American team 5-4 last week to earn a spot at the state tournament starting in Virginia Beach this weekend.
Culpeper American and National Little League Senior Softball defeated East Orange Wednesday night, 9-2.
