Viking: Battle for Asgard is one of those run of the mill hack-and-slash games, but it tries to be so much more. It’s got all the signs; big muscley main character who never talks? Check. Big battles filled will cookie cutter bad guys and soldiers? Absolutely. Doing the same thing over and over until your head explodes but you do it anyway because it’s badass and you’re hoping to God this can’t be what you wasted your gas money on? Hell yeah. Despite sticking to the tried and true formula of generic video game violence, Viking : Battle of Asgard tries to be more then its predecessors by putting in some new features, but is ultimately stuck in a rut of mediocrity that it can’t get out of.

When attending an interview I’m sure you are already nervous about what to say, but don’t forget that your attire also plays a role in the way you are received. The right attire helps to support your personal image as someone who takes the interview seriously. For a revenge tale to be satisfying, we have to identify with the one who was wronged. But for the tale to be complex, gripping, even emotionally cathartic, we have to be able to see both sides. And so there is Frederich Durrenmatt’s immortal 1956 tale of a young girl, disgraced by her lover and driven from town, who becomes the world’s richest woman and stages a grand return, dead set on exacting her pound of flesh.

There are moments in “Antony and Cleopatra” that are so modern and familiar as to make anyone with the memory of besotted love blush. Cleopatra frets peevishly in her palace over where Antony has gone and why he doesn’t return to her. He returns and she sweeps from the room in a fit of pique, feigning illness. She has mastered the art of keeping a man so off balance that he tumbles into her arms. She is, as Antony observed too late to save himself, “cunning past man’s thought.” Custom cannot stale this queen’s infinite variety, but it can make your head spin, and in Antony’s case, make you fall on your sword.

Every week, one thing is certain in the Star-Exponent offices — American Idol dominates the water cooler convo every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. So we thought we’d share our thoughts on the show this year, and invite the public to share your views online. Bluegrass and gospel music are unique in their instruments, vocal practices, and song structures. You can find many different instruments that offer a unique sound and a unique challenge in producing a good sound. All of the instruments today come in electric models that allow you to plug directly into the sound system. However, depending on where you are, you may not get too many of the electric variety and may have to resort to older styles of amplification. And you have to take into account the fact that a lot of bluegrass bands that are smaller like to control their own sound.

There’s a pheromone driven quality to the best plays of Arthur Miller that separates them from nearly every other great American playwright. Secrets, lies, unspoken needs, and a shoulder to the wheel work ethic permeate the very air the characters breathe.

I have been a music enthusiast for 17 of my short 23 years and have enjoyed listening to, singing, playing, writing, and arranging music of all styles. However, that passion for music was altered about nine years ago, sometime in between my freshman and sophomore year in high school.

If there exists a triple crown for writers, Alfred Uhry possesses it. He is the only American author to have won a Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award, and an Academy Award — and yes, as a matter of fact, I am pea-green with envy. But it was the now classic vehicle, “Driving Miss Daisy,” which chauffeured him home with both the Tony for his stage play and an Oscar for the screenplay, the 1989 surprise hit with Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman. But this column reviews only stage plays, which is why we’re turning our attention to Front Royal.

I've been writing reviews for awhile now and I've gotten all sorts of feedback, some good, sort of (Eric, you know that we start every one of our NAMBLA meetings with a reading of your article."), some bad ("I can't believe they publish garbage like this), but most are constructive ("Why don't you review a game someone cares about for once-"). And so, after heavy research and market analysis I decided on Rock Band. Your comments
