Slight to Obama insults the American taxpayer
In early December, President-elect Barack Obama requested to stay at the Blair House, the 100-room guest house for the White House, which is located nearby.
CSE comment on CCHS culture was not right
I am shocked that the Star-Exponent feels it is necessary to write its view about the culture of CCHS (“Culture of losing spells problems for CCHS,” Wednesday).
Some fonts are too small in CSE redesign
The font size and typeface you are using on some of the columns is very difficult to read.
HOW I SEE IT: CCHS should be judged on more than sports
This time the Star Exponent stepped over the line in its “Our view” Wednesday titled “Culture of losing spells problems for CCHS” with its criticism of CCHS’s athletic futilities this past fall.

HOW I SEE IT: To the ‘Grinch’ who stole my Christmas
I love living in the town of Culpeper. Even though Christmas 2008 is over, unfortunately, on Friday, I came to realize that the Grinch from Culpeper had come early in 2009 to steal Christmas away from me.
Smaller type is creating a problem for reader
I have no problem with your new format. However, I am 85 years old, use eyeglasses, and do have a problem with the tiny print in some of the articles in the Sunday paper, the first with the “new look.”
Working through writer’s block when nothing really inspires a column

Builders helped meet the needs of others
During the holidays, there are always so many people who don’t have the opportunity to enjoy a wholesome meal.
As if we needed any more evidence our economy is out of control ...
How bad is it? Well, locally, home foreclosures increased 365% in 2008. Local property values decreased by 37 percent since 2006.
Increasing room price is a greedy thing to do
