Why should we expect open talk?

You really gave me a good laugh with the last paragraph of Tuesday’s staff editorial, “Yowell Elem. will not open on time.”
You wrote, “When the School Board addresses the topic Aug. 1, the discussion promises to be intriguing.”
Do you really believe there will be any public discussion? I attended the “public” meeting held by the School Board that was supposed to inform the public about the situation with Superintendent David Cox.
All they did was go into closed session, change the venue of the meeting and say absolutely nothing to the public. Do you really expect anything different on Aug. 1?

Issues involving employees are routinely discussed in executive session.
Would you want your boss to review your job performance or discuss issues with your job in public?

The school board took a page out of the board of supervisors’ playbook. Government in the dark behind and closed doors is the best government and a way to keep the uninformed citizens, uninformed. Because an informed citizen would take them to task and that’s not nice. Makes perfect sense to me.

This is the way it has always been and will always be until these “career politicians” get voted out of office. Don’t expect any honest discussions to take place under their watch. VOTE THEM OUT!
