I agree with George Willeman’s letter Saturday about Culpeper needing a good full-service grocery store. I have written to both Kroger and Giant asking them to open a location here.
I would also like to see an electronics store such as Best Buy or Circuit City and a good Indian restaurant.

I agree that we really need a new full service grocery store - you know with a real salad bar - I just love Harris Teeter in Gainesville and have wrote to them asking for a new store in Culpeper. My favorite is Wegmans but I know that will never come to Culpeper, but at least Gainesville is getting one! Warrenton is even getting a Harris Teeter - why not Culpeper!!!!

Patience, patience, Manassas is coming…and I hope to be gone before it gets here. Go back to where you came from if you’re not satisfied here, or take Debbie’s suggestion. I like it!

Culpeper is last in line for chain stores,including food.Chain stores typically rotate merchandise from store-to-store(area-to-area)until it sells.We are last in line so we get leftovers,throwaways,odd sizes and colors no one has ever seen.Culpeper is like “Merchandise Purgatory”.Food is slightly different, but not by much.

I agree, we need something, but Giant’s prices are out of control, however, I did purchase some berries from a local supermarket on Sunday only to have them mold on Tuesday! And BTW, it wasn’t WalMart.

Why would you need those stores when we have FIVE 7-11s?
<wink>
Giant and Kroger have sushi! And fresher veggies.
Not to criticize, but all of the current Culpeper markets sell produce that goes bad within 48 hours. Go to Giant and it lasts twice as long. Why is that? Does Giant ship it faster?
Or do they get it onto the floor faster?
I hate buying lettuce and seeing it browning-up the very next day!
When the Farmer’s Market closes in the fall, we have to go back to the deteriorating produce.
Bogus.
I’d rather see a Kroger than a Giant - if I had a choice.
