Thank you for candidate Jerry Beckett's letter March 18, "Town Council needs to put egos aside."
I have lived in Culpeper for the past 16 years - yes, I know this makes me a newbie - and have watched the elected leaders of Culpeper behave as the majority of the Virginia politicians have behaved since I can remember. We have done it this way for the past 200 years; why should we change- Well, sometimes change is needed to update a system that is just not working for the betterment of all.
Wake up, residents of Culpeper: The only way change will come is to elect people who will do the bidding of the people who elected them. If the newly elected officials do not do their jobs, then it is time to seriously look into the impeachment process.
