The Culpeper County Public Schools Office of Special Education wishes to thank all of the individuals and local businesses that made our second annual Special Games on May 2 possible.
The children enjoyed a wonderful day of sunshine, track-and-field events and a great picnic lunch. We all enjoyed seeing old friends — and meeting new friends — among the students and staff from our neighboring school divisions.
The success of this special day is owed in large part to Wal-Mart, Target, Merchant’s Groceries, Smoothie King and the Culinary Arts Program at Culpeper County High School for providing food and materials for the picnic lunch.
We would also like to thank all of the many parents and staff members from Culpeper, Orange and Madison schools who volunteered to help with the games by running the field events, handing out ribbons, cooking and wrapping food and cleaning up after the games ended.
This has become a regional event that Culpeper is proud to host. It is through the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers that we were again able to provide our students with a day to remember.
