School Board is wasting money on superintendent

The Nov. 20 Star-Exponent story titled “Baiting with big bucks,” which is about our School Board using our tax dollars to make sure they get a good superintendent, made me sick.
Our teachers, cafeteria workers, janitors and a few other local public school employees are the ones who deserve a raise. After all, they are the backbone of the school, the ones who bust their behinds every day to make sure our kids are being taught and fed and in a clean environment.
I’m so tired of the way the School Board is making such backward decisions for the hard workers in our county!
You give some people a little pull in this county and they let it go to their heads.
Vote to give the ones who deserve it a raise, not some pencil pusher who’s not going to appreciate the money and is going to want more in the near future anyway!
It’s time we take back our county by getting rid of certain people on the School Board, and also on the Town Council.
Please, people of Culpeper, let’s do the right thing and start making these things happen.
I want to thank our teachers, kitchen workers and janitors for being there day after day to make sure my kids are in a clean, healthy and learning-centered environment. Someday soon, you will be more appreciated by your School Board.

What does doing away with some members of town council have to do with your letter about the school board and its efforts to hire a superintendent? Just that mention and then nothing.

You write: “Vote to give the ones who deserve it a raise”.
How do you define who “deserves” a raise?

Please don’t forget the school bus drivers. My son has had the same driver for 5 years and she is excellent. These people do a difficult job for little money.
