Regarding the letter Sept. 26 from Martha Dudley titled “Media should check Obama’s birth certificate,” the media already has done so.
Sen. Obama certainly was not born in Kenya, although his father was. The senator was born Aug. 4, 1961 at the Kapolei Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
May I suggest that she look at the photo essay in Newsweek magazine, Sept. 1 on page 38?
She might also be interested in reading the Time magazine special issue: “The Democrats,” Sept. 1. Pages 46 and 47 state, “With roots in Karma, Kenya and beyond, the candidate is a genealogist’s fantasy.” The senator’s mother, by the way, was born in Kabul.
The American media, for all its faults, is not so incompetent as Ms. Dudley suggests.

If you are saying Factcheck.org “vetted Obama”....Don’t forget that factcheck.org is part of the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania
and is funded by the Annenberg Foundation that employed Obama in Chicago.

Just in case you missed the point - “Fact Check” That is supposed to be nonbiased and fair - has been tweaking results in favor of Obama - Why? Obama used to work for Annenberg

Obama’s mother was born in Kansas, not Kabul, Afghanistan. Both begin with the letter “k” though.
