There was no reason for Suzanne Tate to include the librarian, Ms. Elizabeth Hensley, in her letter to the editor Sunday (“Not the best choice of books on Obama”).
Ms. Hensley was merely aiding the community, as she always, so generously does. I, for one, do not believe she had an ulterior motive nor was her column slanted in any particular fashion.
Ms. Tate only offered us her political opinion under the guise of denouncing books to read. Garbage or not, we have a right to read them and decide for ourselves. Ms. Hensley in her role, I’m assuming, has a right to list whatever is in her circulation that is available to the public on a pertinent subject matter.
