As a student body, we are outraged at the one-sided nature in which President Gene Nichol's forced resignation at the College of William and Mary has been portrayed in the media.
The entire campus (faculty and students alike) of the second-oldest college in the nation has been rallying, striking and protesting since the moment the news was released to us Tuesday morning, and our efforts are far from over.
We are attempting to revolutionize the imbalanced relationship between a totalitarian governance of "prestigious" alumni and the campus' dynamic community of students and professors.
We are attempting to redefine the entire process by which decisions are made at this top public university.
We could be making history.
As an activist and English major, I have written a personal essay expressing my view of the Board of Visitors' decision, but one has only to step on our Williamsburg campus to gain many more insightful opinions and outcries.
