Not too long ago, I wrote a letter to the editor asking folks to please slow down for our kids when getting on the school bus.
Well, it finally happened! When my children were getting on the bus Thursday morning, one car heading east slowed down and stopped and than here came another car that plowed into the car that stopped. That car should have started to slow down if the driver noticed the bus had stopped and had its lights flashing.
Suppose my children’s bus was going east. Then the car going west could have hit my children.
We had to call the sheriff and they told us they’d get right on it, but nobody does!
This is an ongoing problem on Route 3. All the state has done is put up curve signs. Well, this incident shows that doesn’t help either. All that is needed is common sense. Please pay attention to what you are doing. It will save a lot of headaches in the long run. Please watch out for our children.
One more thing, I’m disabled, and someone who doesn’t watch what they are doing can put someone in a wheelchair for life or even cause their death. It’s something to think about.

People simply do not pay attention while driving.
And for a lot who do pay attention, they are in way too much of a hurry to want to slow down for a school bus.

It’s disgusting this even needs to be brought to anyones attention. Anyone want to make a bet on the person who hit the stopped vehicle? Cell phone use maybe??
Not only is it the law to stop but its common sense.
