McCain’s remark shows him to be an honorable man

At a Republican campaign rally Friday in Minnesota, Sen. John McCain took the microphone from a woman who had called Barack Obama an Arab.
“No, ma’am,” McCain responded. “Obama is a decent, family man.”
Well, no matter how angry and disruptive that crowd was, I say, good for John McCain! He has once again proven to me that he is still a man of courage, honesty and valour.
How many presdential candidates — this far into a campaign — would have the gumption and the heart to stand up for what is right?
This is exactly what I admired about McCain back in the 2000 primary. He was hurt and angry then when other Republicans used “swiftboat” tactics on him and his family. As a result of that experience, he is not going to allow it to happen to anybody else.
His supporters, instead of screaming at the man, should hold their heads up high and be proud that they have a candidate who is this honorable.
McCain’s mistake was not running as an independent. He could have chosen his own running mate, instead of the one who was pushed at him by the GOP.
I would love to vote for McCain at this point; however, after watching Sarah Palin rile up the mobs, it scares me to death knowing she would be only a heartbeat away from the presidency.
God bless you, John McCain. You are indeed a good man.

Curious why an “honorable” man would, by omission, not also correct the woman by saying “Arabs” are part of the fabric of society. By not correcting her there, he insulted Arab Americans.

I wish Mc Cain had been our President, eight years ago…it would have been a better world.
It was very decent of him to correct his supporters.

I haven’t heard him complain about his supporters saying “kill him” or “terrorist” in reference to Obama.

Have you noticed that Palin isn’t demonstrating as much class?
