Local leaders giving us reason to laugh

All the testimony of the numerous co-workers brought forward to support former Superintendent David Cox has become an embarrassment to the School Board and the county. It is a shameful reminder to the parents and the students that the “elected members” of this body care less about the future of the little fellows.

As the Star-Exponent’s massive exposition of the sordid wrong is printed on past weeks’ front pages, the town is castigated for its acquisition of a “holy shrine” for the police and reluctantly refusing to repair a skate park for the little fellows.

The whole saga has become something of a laughing stock.

To clear things up for you, what I was trying to say was that PWC and Faquier and other counties have got a good many of our discarded (and those who quit under their own power) teachers. I personaly know several teachers that left.

Atomikboy, I didn’t understand anything you wrote.  You obviously didn;t understand that the PWC officials don’t care about Culpeper as most of the state doesn’t care.  That makes Teacher’s comment questionable.

El Debibble...I dont suppose the PWC officials are crying for us? Would they be crying out of joy from all the good people they are getting from our metaphorical dumpsters? Hehe, boy I wonder if the ‘throwing out good leaders’ situation is happening nationwide, or statewide, at least. Or would it happen to be a little fling of the Culpeper area?

Yes, “good people” have left, but many more still remain. If only we have enough sense to figure out who they are among us.

Culpeper County IS the laughing stock. Just ask any officials from other areas of the state.

I AGREE WITH COMMONSENSE, WE HAVE LOST ALOT OF GOOD PEOPLE. CULPEPER COUNTY DOES THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS. THIS PAST NOVEMBER WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ELECT AN HONEST SHERIFF, BUT NO, WE GET A DEPUTY ADMITTING TO SEX WITH A MINOR ON DUTY AND RESIGNING AFTER SHERIFF BRANCH SAYS HE IS INNOCENT AND ITS ONLY POLITICS. A SERIOUS MURDER CASE THROWN OUT AND A MURDERER STILL ON THE LOOSE, (WARNER MURDER).PLUS A LAWSUIT FOR AN INMATE DYING IN THE LOCAL JAIL. THE SILENT MAJORITY IN CULPEPER NEEDS TO VOTE AND CORRECT THESE BLUNDERS!!!

The police department’s HQ is a disgrace. I have no idea how they can accomplish what they do in such antiquated quarters.
They need a modern building with parking and better visitor access.

The kids at the skate park have a choice: obey the rules that THEY AGREED TO, or lose the repair money. They have chosen not to wear helmets - 95% of them anyway. If they want the ramps fixed, they should observe the rules.
The refusal to wear helmets is a lawsuit against the town just waiting to happen...and it will happen.
Applying pressure to get teens to obey rules is not a “new tactic.”

I don’t renew cell phone minutes when my teens don’t do what’s right.

Has anyone else noticed the “brain drain” from Culpeper in the past year?  We have lost several intelligent and forward thinking professionals.  Coincidence?  I don’t think so.  First there was Asst. Town Manager, Noah Simon.  Then came Town Manager, Brannon Godfrey. Then came Asst. Superintendent, Eric Conti.  Now we have lost our Superintendent, Dr. Cox.  More importantly, look and see who is still here through all this!  Think about it and it makes sense.
