Sept. 19 at the Packard Campus of the Library of Congress at Mount Pony, 199 of the 205 seats were filled for a movie.
Forty-three of those were people on a waiting list hoping a reservation holder would not claim their ticket. So far, no one has been turned away.
Not all of the films have been so well attended. Having any vacant seats is amazing as the cost of seeing a classic film is the price of a phone call and transportation to the facility.
Being requested to not smoke, drink, eat or talk on cell phones for a couple of hours seems little enough to ask in order to see films like “The Wizard of Oz,” “Singin’ in The Rain” and “Shane,” among others.
We are fortunate to have this opportunity. I only hope that in pointing out this great movie going experience, I have not written myself out of a seat at some future showing!
