Some people are saying Jesus is dead. Some are saying Jesus does not exist. Jesus is not dead.
I saw Jesus in the seremon at our United Methodist Church called "On The Mound" and in all the young children performing that sermon with their teacher and music director and pastor.
I saw Jesus in the entire congregation watching that great holy hour of special dedication. I saw Jesus in the face of a newborn baby. I heard Jesus saying "You must be born again." I saw Jesus in the face of the parents. I realized once again that God-in-Christ loves all his children.
I saw Jesus in the face of a friend. I was reminded that Jesus is a friend who is closer than a brother. I saw Jesus in the face of my mother when she knew death was near but did not fear it. I remember her words "thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
You may think Jesus is dead. You may think Jesus does not exist, but I know differently. I know Jesus lives. Come to the United Methodist Church on Oaklawn drive Sunday and see "He's alive."
