The president's assertion that the Children's Health Care bill moves our health care system in the wrong direction is in my opinion wrong-headed and unconscionable.
The assertion by President Bush and his Republican backers that the Children's Health Care bill would be a step toward federalization of health care is, in my opinion, discriminatory and hateful.
It seems to me that the president's rejection of the bill shows that Bush and his comrades do not care about the welfare of poor children or, for that matter, the hard-working and patriotic Americans who can't afford or access the health care system.
It is preposterous that taxes and the federalizing of health care should stand in the way of creating a system of health care that would include not just children, but all Americans citizens.
It is very strange that nearly all of the presidential candidates - as well as all officials in government including President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and the Congress - have and use government-run medical insurance and they fight like cats and dogs to deprive nearly 50 million American people from obtaining any form of medical insurance.
