The fourth-grade team of teachers at A.G. Richardson Elementary School worked diligently to put together a review book for students in preparation for SOL tests.

Then, they held a parent night to introduce the book and show what SOL tests look like online. As a result, the children have worked very hard to get ready and to do their best on the tests.

Mary Beth Bopp, a first-year teacher, decided that since her students had “gone the extra mile” for her, she should “go an extra mile” for them! She even challenged her children with the idea, and it caught on.

So, on Thursday morning, after all the tests are done, the fourth-grade teachers will be “going the extra mile” as they walk/run a mile around the soccer field at the school.

What will the children be doing since their “mile” will be done? They’ll be sitting on beach towels, relaxing, enjoying a popsicle and cheering on their teachers!
