J. Michael Sharman's March 4 column on Barack Hussein Obama Jr. ("Presidential politics") is interesting in that very little of it deals with Barack Obama.
Sharman does include a few brief facts about the politician, but most of his article discusses Obama's parents and his church affiliation. There is also a mention of his half-sister.
I found this curiously unenlightening, so I looked up J. Michael Sharman, finding him featured in the "Commonwealth Commentary Newsletter."
Sharman's educational background and immediate family are mentioned, as are his many forays into public life.
I found nothing on Sharman's mother and father, so I don't know what they did or if he has any ethnicity in his background.
I looked in vain for his church affiliation but conclude that possibly he leans toward a respectable religiosity, but I may be wrong.
Getting to know J. Michael Sharman appears as difficult as getting the facts on candidate Barack Obama.
