I wanted John McCain to win the election. But you know what? He didn’t.

So what we need to do now is to just sit back and let Barack Obama do what he thinks is best for the country.

Basically, I’m saying we need to grow up and stop saying stuff about the election.

p.s.  As of this moment, being a dem doesn’t give you the right to tell me not to complain.  I still have the freedom of speech, though it is in danger.

I lost my job due to the housing market crash.  I blame this squarely on the Dems in Congress pushing through the idiotic mandate to give everyone a house, whether they could pay for it or not.  I blame Franks and Dodd and Pelosi for a huge part of the mess we are in.  Bush is not blameless, but ignoring their part in the mess will doom us to worse - there will now be absolutely no checks and balances, especially if Franken steals MN.  I’m glad that you’re happy with the outcome, and I pray that I’m wrong and in four years have to eat my words.  I am making you a promise that I will do just that.  I don’t see how, although, as I said in my response to your other post, Obama seems to be changing his tune on many things, not because he wants to, but because reality is much stronger than his quite sizeable ego.  I’ve already addressed the media issue elsewhere - it’s an accepted fact, even by the media (after the fact, of course).  They knew exactly what they were doing, it worked, they rule.  Oh well.  And they will just get more and more powerful as our children get lazier and lazier - they’ll do as too many voters did this time - pay attention to clever little sound bytes and not go deep enough to unearth the truth about our new president-elect.
Here’s the difference between liberals and conservatives when it comes to respecting our president.  I doubt you will ever see a major movie making fun of Obama.  I don’t think you will see conservatives publicly spouting the same kind of vile criticisms we’ve seen coming from the left, especially Hollywood.  I doubt we’ll ever see Republican politicians sitting down with our enemies, bashing Obama and blaming him for their woes.  I haven’t seen any of this yet, and Lord knows we’re disappointed.  We will keep a watchful eye, and continue to question and protest in our way.  We’ll continue to listen to conservative talk radio until the Dems force them to shut down, then I guess we’ll be little mainstream media zombies like the rest of you.  They hate Bush, love Obama, so you will forever hear what a horrible president Bush was, and what a saint Obama is.  I really don’t care if you believe it or not - it’s a fact documented by the media itself - check it out (only if you’re not afraid of the truth).
BTW, not a big Bush fan here, just don’t think he’s the villain you guys make him out to be.  I still thank God it was him in the office on 9/11.

Ms. Anderson, although I proudly and hopefully voted for Obama, I respect your vote. Geriberi, we should not stop paying attention; never should anyone do that. We have an “incredibly liberal Congress?” We do? I don’t buy that. We have a Democratic congress. There’s a big difference. Are you saying that over the past eight years Bush was unjustifiably “bashed to pieces?” I say that the overwhelming majority of suffering Americans - myself included who has lost much - disagree. Isn’t that now clear? Perhaps you didn’t have much to loose, but I did. I think that the election proves my point. What “horrible ideas” are now being formulated? Name them. Since you fault the media, perhaps YOU might attempt to educate us. Thus far I like the leaders and ideas being presented. Should they fail, then criticize them. Then, I may well join you, but not before, absent a strong argument you’ve not thus far offered.

So, we just stop paying attention, and don’t worry about what Obama and our incredibly liberal congress are doing?  Sure, that’s a great idea.  Just because we lost the election doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to pay attention - there’s way too much at stake here.  Where were you for the last 8 years while Bush was bashed to pieces?  There are far too many horrible ideas being quietly formulated that they will slip in on us without us knowing what hit us - there have to be people staying vigilant about keeping others informed, if possible - do you think the media’s going to do it?
Maybe you wanted McCain elected, but it doesn’t sound like you really cared too much about the issues that were being voted on.
