Drive safely in and around work zones

It’s summer, so a lot of people are traveling, taking children everywhere, and that means roadwork projects are being done.

I am imploring the public to please be patient with the workers out there doing their jobs. Roadwork areas can stretch for many miles, and motorists should slow down when they see the signs.

Please be aware of what may be going on. A work zone is a busy place, and I would like to see everyone get to where they are going, safely.

Please don’t wait until the last minute to stop for the flaggers. Flaggers are not there to inconvenience you, but to help you safely enter the work zone. With this being said, please give road workers a brake.

10-4! If the workers aren’t working signs should be turned or taken down. If you see something that is not right with the zone, you can call(in C’peper),829-7616. They will direct you to the person that you need to speak with.

I agree.  But I think one thing that doesn’t help are “work zone ahead” signs and there isn’t anything there. If there is no work going on these signs need to be taken down asap, so that when motorists do see a sign they’ll know it is a active work site and slow down and not wait until they see a real person.
