Catherine Amos wrote a timely article Thursday on consignment shops in Culpeper. There was, however, an oversight of Cherished Child, a consignment shop for infants and small children. It is owned and operated by Beverly Eaton and is a real asset for families.
They buy and sell gently-treated clothing, furniture and other baby items at great prices. Cherished Child is located on Culpeper Street and is open Tuesday through Saturday.
And speaking of shopping, and the letters about our lack of good grocery stores, perhaps those who are looking for more shopping should remember the reasons they moved to Culpeper: quality of life, quiet, slower-paced living, less congestion. Each time we add stores and shopping centers, we become more like the places we moved from.
When we moved here 20 years ago, I learned quickly that there are things I need and those I want. Those I need are here in our wonderful little town. Those I want, I can drive a short distance to purchase. That will help to keep Culpeper the wonderful little town, not the big, congested city we moved from.
