The Honorable Eric Cantor:

Could you please enlighten me on how congressional protection works. I, and so many other responsible citizens, am extremely disturbed that there are certain congressmen, senators and other congressional appointees who were directly involved with and caused the financial disaster we are now experiencing, and all that will happen to them at best is a stern finger-wagging.

From what I see, most of them are getting a pat on the back and a “Job well done.”

Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters, Greg Meeks, Bill Clinton, Janet Reno (all Democrats) and many, many others share blame. Please explain how these people can destroy the future of so many Americans, who play by the rules every day and worked so hard over the last 20 to 40 years for the great American Dream, without suffering any repercussions, whatsoever.

Apparently, it’s proper to address those in congress as “The Honorable.” What a joke. There is nothing honorable about what these people have done or how they spin the evidence to blame everybody else and protect their own sorry careers. It’s an absolute disgrace.

I and many other law-abiding citizens have absolutely no confidence in congress to do the right thing or take responsibility when they do the wrong thing.

I want, desperately, to believe that there are a few congressmen and senators who have the courage to expose this crime of incredible deception and greed, even if their political future would be at risk. But so far I have seen no evidence of that.

Please let me and your loyal constituents know what can and will be done to expose and fix this lie.

“By STEVEN A. HOLMES (NY Times)
Published: September 30, 1999
In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets — including the New York metropolitan region – will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.
”Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990’s by reducing down payment requirements,” said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae’s chairman and chief executive officer (and current Obama advisor). ”Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.”

So, Buddy, according to this piece from 1999 (and many others available to anyone who wants to look for the truth), we can certainly lay some blame for this mess on Clinton.

There is a very well done You Tube video outlining the efforts by the repubs to get Fannie & Freddie under control, and the dems fighting every effort.

Useless war?  Wow.  What a nice sentiment for the men and women of our armed forces who are out there risking their lives so people like you can keep your freedom to say stupid things like that.  Like they say, if you can’t get behind our troops, get in front of them.  And yes, calling it a “useless war” is the perfect example of not supporting our troops.

Let see, the CEO’s get millions in salary plus millions of Bonuses ..even if they do an outstandingly BAD job. Our last President spent trillions giving tax breaks to the above mentioned CEO’S. He spents trillions on a useless war and suddenly it is Bill Clintons fault.  WHAT???  That is so amazing.  Where have you been these last 8 years?? Dont you remember we had a President Bush, who upon taking the Office of President with a $$ surplus from President Clinton promptly had that spent by 2001.
A lot of the Senators and Congress Men and women lost their jobs on November 4 because some of us notices that they did a rotten job.

On a note closer to home.  Speaking of spending.
I believe that Mr. Cantor vacations in Aspen at Little Nell’s which runs $1400.00 per night.

You’re kidding, right?  Eric Cantor has been here all along in Congress while all this have been going on. Did we hear any complaint from him BEFORE the horse left the barn?  He was probably too busy raising millions in Hollywood and Beverly Hills.  Note too that he voted for both of the bailouts this fall.  What makes you think Cantor is any more honorable than any of the other guys that voted for the bailout?
