An open letter to the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors:
My family and I have recently restored a historic farm house on Borst Lane in Brandy Station. We wanted to establish a bed and breakfast and cater to equestrian travelers, as we have the perfect horse facility. However, we were limited in the riding experience we could offer our guests.
We eventually gave up the dream and were waiting for development to reach us so we could sell and see a return on our huge investment for the house and farm.
Then I read about the Culpeper Heritage Horse Trail and learned it would pass in front of my house.
I can't tell you how our dream was restored and how excited we are with this new idea.
The trail is brilliant in its grand scheme and simplicity. I totally support amending the comprehensive plan with the Culpeper Heritage Horse Trail.
I would prefer that this trail system be established tomorrow. My house is ready, and so am I. Please move this trail forward at full speed. Holding onto our property depends on it.
My calculations show a yearly net income from this operation to exceed $56,000.
As our other sources of income have slowed, this would really benefit my family.
