On the first two Saturdays of November, the people of Culpeper County and the town of Culpeper saw the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts doing their good turn by participating in Scouting for Food.
They distributed the bags donated by Safeway on door steps and returned on the following Saturday to collect what had been left. The food collected stayed in the county by going to the Culpeper Food Closet.
As in the past, the great people of Culpeper did a great job in contributing to this cause. The scouts collected almost 8,000 pounds of food.
Thanks to everyone who helped by contributing food or volunteering to stock food. But most of all, I want to give a big thank you to the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts for a job well done.
