Wade 3:45 PM, thanks. But I’m only interested in facts/truth. Your post is a shortened copy of The Social Contract Press’s (SCP’s) press release ‘The Fiscal Impact of America’s Foreign-Born Population’ (see http://www.thesocialcontract.com/events/press_conf_2008apr08.html). The SCP is a prominent proponent of immigration and population reduction founded by FAIR’s John Tanton. Due in part to the SCP’s publication and endorsement of the novel The Camp of the Saints it (and FAIR) is labeled a ‘hate group’ by the SPLC. In 2001 the SPLC reported that the novel was ‘widely revered by American white supremacists and is a sort of anti-immigration analog to The Turner Diaries.’ I hope this helps you and others see truth.

Thanks OPA.  What I should have added is that there should be a clear delineation between the portion at the top and the opinion piece in the rest of the cartoon.  You can say whatever you want(within reason)in your opinion cartoon but the standard is much higher for the section at the top.

That was purported to be legitimate factual, objective information.  Clearly it was suspect at best which is why no reputable news organization reported it, at least that I could find in your suggested search.

Anyone can cherry-pick their own stats to come up with a “research report” that tells what they wanted to “prove” in first place.

Wade, as did rjma so did I do as you asked. It was not however an ‘eye opening experience’ and unlike you, neither rjma nor I have any reason to be embarrassed by the ‘facts’.  Your cite (google ‘illegal alien cost’) yields the wild propaganda of many well-known hate groups not facts. Believe whatever you will, but do not report that it is factual when clearly it is not.

Ok.  I did as you asked but I see nothing about any $346B put out by any reputable news organization.  There is some report by some Rubenstein guy and he is certainly entitled to manipulate facts any way he wishes.  But I don’t think such manipulation should be passed off as a “research report” in a reputable paper.  Is this peer-reviewed?  But in sum, we can play dueling facts and figures all day long.  But really, what does that accoplish? And what does a “research report” about immigration have to do with illegal immigration?  Besides your math is wrong.

what “research” report?  It’s embarrassing to see this kind of thing in the paper.
