On Thursday, Culpeper will get a first-hand look at Sen. Barack Obama’s plan on how he’ll jumpstart the country’s slumping economy and create good-paying jobs.
The Democratic presidential hopeful won’t be in town to tell you himself, but his campaign staffers are hosting a “Working for Change” town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 115 N. East. St.
A Democratic Party press release says the public will get a chance to “directly engage the campaign and discuss their concerns and what they want to see America’s next president do to improve opportunity for families in the commonwealth.”
Oscar Ramirez, Obama’s Virginia policy director, and Danny Sepulveda, who handles economic policy issues for Obama’s Senate office, will moderate the event.
This is the fifth in a series of Virginia economic town halls hosted by the campaign, and the first one in Culpeper. Similar town hall meetings have been held in Danville, Martinsville, Richmond and Newport News.

Obama meeting, no way! I’ll just stay home, clean my guns, read my bible and do what Obama thinks “average white people” do. I’ll see what he has to say and how he reacts to real questions WITHOUT a telepromptor on the Factor.

Some of you people act like Obama walks on water and he will be the Savior of this Country! WAKE UP! All politicians, Democratic or Republican are all liars and just spew what they think everyone wants to hear! The best we can do is just pick the lesser of 2 evils! Personally I think Obama is so full of ....well u know what, it should be flowing out his ears. He can’t commit to one issue that has been brought up! I don’t trust him, I don’t really trust McCain, but McCain does have more experience and I believe he won’t leave the door open for more Terrorist to come in like Clinton did….ah ah ah ah ...don’t say it was Bush….Clinton had his chance to get rid of bin laden and he didn’t do it! Drill for oil here, you can drill in my backyard if you want, and I am sure the Caribou in Alaska could care less. Like the bumper sticker says, NOBAMA in 08, and you can keep the CHANGE! pfft Love your comment Semper Fi Mom….I will stop huggin my bible and put my gun down to come protest….o wait…Obama won’t even be there…I will be protesting a bunch of college kids with bumper stickers….nah I think I will stay home and watch O’Reilly grill him on Fox!

I wonder if he/his campaign managers have been watching BBC? I’ve researched and read what I could find (especially Senate voting records and public documents, as well as other people’s research that has factual proven information)and know who I’m voting for. Where the meeting is held really isn’t very important…he’s personable and can give a rousing speach - so, I’m sure those who attend will enjoy.

I really don’t care where they hold it. It just seemed strange to pick one of the smallest churches in Culpeper.

Sandalwood - What is your deal with St. Stephen’s? It doesn’t make any sense at all - whether it was in the library, a school, someone’s living room, or a church - does it?
Why does it matter that it’s at St. Stephen’s - a centrally located church that is kid of a landmark? Is it because of who the candidate is, who is likely to vote for him, or a race issue, with you? Or is it an issue with the Episcopal Church or this one in particular?
Don’t want to come ... then don’t. Want to check it out? Then come on over to East Street.
Why people throw out comments like yours is beyond me.

Why is this meeting being held at St Stephen’s Church? Why not Antioch or a school? I guess they aren’t expecting many people to attend.

Are you people for real? Do us all a favor and don’t vote. We don’t need ignorant and closed minded people like you voting in any election. Here’s something to think about, how many good bills have been fillerbustered by the Rep. since the Dems gained control? You can’t put any of the problems of today on the Dems. They can’t get anything to pass through the process and if they do Bush veto’s it. It doesn’t matter who you vote for, just don’t be close minded and open you eyes to see the truth. Don’t take a politicians word for it. They all lie.

Why isn’t it being held at the Antioch Baptist Church? Why St Stevens? And don’t tell me because it’s bigger.
